Guam DJ In Iraq

DJ JUN
Guam DJ In Iraq

Hello Guahan.

My name is Mariano Sensano. Born and raised locally on Guam but now fighting the war on Terror in Iraq. Lately all the news about the war was on casualties and politics. Nobody ever writes on the soldiers moral and what they do on their spare time. Our families back home especially wonder if our boys are being taken care of. Thats what I am here for. To let you all back home know that we are good and well taken cared of.

I have been a professional DJ for almost 16 years with the DJ Crew of Music Sensation with a few other names out there that I have jumped around with like Qwest for Madness, Music Equalizer and hung around many more, but with only the best.

Comming to Iraq I would have never thought that I would be mixing up music out here again, in all places, but I am. As the head audio and visual tech here now on my post Mixing is my second job. First a communications tech and now a DJ again spinning it up for almost the entired armed forces in Iraq. Since the fall of Baghdad my unit and I have accomplished many mission and now that most of them are done I am back to playing. Since last June I have been tasked by the main post MWR(Military Welfare and Recreation) to play music for them in their recreation tent every weekday, Friday's being theme night. On theme night, weither it be HIp Hop, Reggae, R&B, House Techno, Country, and yes I even have an Island night too, I mix up music so the soldiers can enjoy and relax for a bit. Ballad. Camp Anaconda is the place to be in Iraq. It will soon be the hub of Operations and is now one of the biggest in theater. I am all thats left out of my two other DJ's that has left. They are c
urrently in process of going back home now and hopefully soon I will go to.
I enjoy seeing my island brothrers come in and we all just hang out and listen to the good unes I play. Good music, good food and lots of friends make the MWR tent a place to be. Yes it's tough being out here, very tough but at least here we have aplace where soldiers can run off to and relax. Fully heated in the winter and a/c in the summer, the MWR has brought many soldiers the get away they needed. With a gym, movie tent, internet cafe, reccreation center loaded with pool tables and video games and the lounge where I play we provide the best to our soldiers everday, 24 hours a week.

Iraq DJs
Mike, Q, and Dj Jun

I only hope when my unit leaves that there will be a DJ that will provide the same quality entertainment that my crew and I have given the soldiers. For now , we here are Music Sensanion 2. DJ Mike(Arazona) DJ Q(Panama) and DJ Big Jon(Texas) the the DJ's that compose my team. All have different styles and likes but all are into one common goal. Entertainment of the soldiers. All hand picked to be the best I chose no wanna b's and only those whose knew their stuff.

For pics of our lastest party in the desert check us out at www.djquality.com/mscrew.html or guamdj.com or e-mail me at mariamo.sensano@us.army.mil for info about us or pics.

Thank you, SPC Sensano (DJ JUN)
